About Dragon Golf

The blacksmith profession has always had a high reputation in Japan.

The Japanese emperor Go-Toba learned this profession himself and became a respected swordsmith.

The creative period Go-Toba is seen as the beginning of the "golden age of blacksmithing" in Japan.

The knowledge of steel and its properties as well as the experience in working with it have been passed on from generation to generation and are being refined continuously.

This knowledge is applied to golf clubs today. Anyone familiar with golf knows that the best golf clubs are coming from Japan.

Most well-known manufacturers - including the Japanese - now have their products manufactured abroad.

But there are exceptions.

A handful of Japanese manufacturers have specialised in transferring the traditional knowledge of blacksmithing to the production of golf clubs - as far as possible.

The production takes place on the basis of the traditional knowledge and a high level of manual dexterity.

This wealth of experience guarantees the quality of these masterly products in the truest sense of the word.

Dragon Golf is partner to some of these manufacturers. It is our goal to offer these masterful golf clubs a platform in Europe.

It is important to tell the history and background of these handicraft businesses as well as to convey Japanese traditions and philosophies.

Japanese traditions and philosophies are firmly anchored in Japanese society.
They are reflected in the manual manufacturing processes and have a major impact on most of our products.

Wabi-Sabi, to mention just one philosophical direction, is an aesthetic lesson from Japan.

It is essentially based on the acceptance of imperfection and the inevitable.

Examples of Wabi-Sabi are visible traces of processing, intentionally raw surfaces or the deliberate omission of high-gloss polish etc. Between the different sections in this catalog, we would like to convey some of these traditions and philosophies.

In order to be able to offer the best products, we are in constant contact with the manufacturers - also on site in Japan.

On the following pages we would like to introduce the manufacturers and their products that we represent.
